Ausflug ins Eriskircher Ried

Die Teilnehmer und Exkursionsleitung waren vom Ausflug ins Eriskircher Ried begeistert, berichtete Vera Schlossbauer. Neben der Irisblüte (die in diesem Jahr später als normal stattfand) waren auch botanische Raritäten wie blühende Knabenkräuter und das Tausengüldenkraut zu sehen. Auch konnten die am Bodensee vorkommenden Wasservögel beobachtet werden, darunter auch Haubentaucher und Tafelenten.

Die Storchenküken sind geschlüpft, bei genauem hinsehen kann man drei graue Schemen im Nest erkennen. Natürlich nur, wenn der Altvogel mal aufsteht. Die Storcheneltern wechseln sich jetzt mit Futtersuche und Küken wärmen ab.

Morgenwanderung

Über 30 Personen nahmen trotz der Kälte an der Morgenwanderung in Mittelbiberach teil. Am Schluss wurden dafür alle mit der Beobachtung eines Kleinspechts “belohnt”.

Zwischen Winter und Frühling
Bei der Führung am 21. März im Wettenberger Ried war der Winter noch deutlich zu spüren. So gab es noch Eis auf den Wegen und auf manchen Wassergräben. Doch auch der Frühling schickte erste Boten aus: blühender Huflattich, Kröten und Frösche waren zuentdecken.
Nachdem alle Kinder und Eltern mit einer “Wildschweinjagd” aufgewärmt waren, gingen sie auf Tierspurensuche. Es fand sich auch viel Leben im Totholz und in einem Wassergraben. Leider beendete der Regen die Entdeckungsreise, bevor weitere Frühlingsboten entdeckt werden konnten.

Naturentdecker im Finsterbuch

Eine große Gruppe Naturentdecker machte sich unter der Leitung von Förster Michael Plutowsky im Winterwald auf die Suche nach Tierspuren.

Zwar waren wegen des Tauwtters die Tierspuren im Schnee nicht mehr so deutlich, aber unter der fachkundigen Anleitung von Herrn Plutowsky fanden sich Abdrücke von Reh, Fuchs, Wildschein, Dachs und Mensch.

Dann ging es durchs Unterholz zu einem Fuchsbau. Für viele ein tolles Erlebnis, den Waldweg zu verlassen und auf unebenen Pfaden durch den Wald zu “schleichen”.

Zum Abschluss traf sich noch eine nette Runde am warmen Ofen in der Hütte zu Punsch und interessanten Gesprächen.
Storchenjahr 2009

2009: Wie schon in den Jahren zuvor verbrachte das unberingte Biberacher Storchenpaar den Winter wieder bei uns.
Wer ins Storchennest sehen will, braucht nicht mehr auf den benachbarten Kirchturm zu steigen, sondern kann dies ganz bequem von zu Hause aus am Computer tun. Eine webcamera beobachtet nämlich genau das Geschehen. Beim Besuch dieser Internetseite konnte am 5. April erstmals das regelmäßige Bebrüten eines Geleges festgestellt werden; zu diesem Zeitpunkt lagen zwei Eier im Nest, sodass mit dem Schlupf der ersten beiden Küken am 7. Mai zu rechnen ist. Wieviele Eier tatsächlich bebrütet werden, ist auf dem von der Kamera gelieferten Bild nicht genau zu erkennen. Ein Blick vom Kirchturm soll demnächst Klarheit bringen.
Derzeitige Lage: 5 Eier lagen im Nest, Brutbeginn war Anfang April, am 7. Mai war mindestens 1 Junges geschlüpft, am 8. Mai hatte es den Anschein, als seien 3 Köpfchen zu sehen. Morgen klettere ich wieder auf den Kirchturm, um einen exakteren Einblick zu erhalten, denn die webcam ist zum einen derzeit außer Betrieb, zum anderen sind die Bilder, die sie liefert, nicht scharf genug für sichere Aussagen.
Eine traurige Nachricht: am 19. Mai war Martin Rösler wieder auf dem Kirchturm und musste feststellen, dass das Storchennest leer und verlassen ist. Alle Jungen sind tot… über die Ursachen kann man nur spekulieren.
Auf jeden Fall wird es unter diesen Bedingungen leider keine Beringung und kein “Storchenfest” geben - in diesem Jahr.

Kartoffelernte im Bauerngarten in Rindenmoos: mit Begeisterung wurden die Kartoffeln in der Erde gesucht und (leider nur wenige) gefunden.

NABU-Fest auf der Rissinsel

Bei gutem Wetter findet am Sonntag, 5. Juli ab 11 Uhr auf dem Spielplatz auf der Rissinsel unser NABU-Fest statt.
Eingeladen sind alle NABU-Mitglieder mit Familie und alle, die Freude an der Natur haben.
Gedankenaustausch mit Naturfreunden, Naturbeobachtungen und Gewässererkundung für Kinder stehen auf dem Programm. Auch gibt es Informationen zum Straßenbau und Flächenverbrauch rund um Biberach.
Es besteht die Möglichkeit zum Grillen. Jeder sollte sein Essen, Getränke und Geschirr selbst mitbringen.
Die Rissinsel ist vom Haberhäusle oder vom Parkplatz beim Risscenter gut zu Fuß erreichbar.
Naturentdecker pflanzen Kartoffeln

Ein Bauerngarten in Rindenmoos: bei herrlichem Sonnenschein legten zwei junge Naturentdecker Kartoffeln in die Erde. Dabei konnten sie auch viele Bodenlebewesen entdecken: Regenwürmer, Asseln, Tausendfüßler, Käfer usw. Schnell waren alle Kartoffeln im Boden und nur beim Anhäufeln mussten die Väter mithelfen. Danach war noch Zeit für Vesper und Spiele auf dem Spielplatz.
Nun warten alle gespannt auf die Ernte im Herbst!
